New Dad Hobbies of Mine

Since becoming a new dad I’ve been crying you for things to share with everyone about how simply life-changing it’s been and the new hobbies I’ve picked up over the last few months. It’s simply been transformative in the best possible ways I can tell you. Before my wife became pregnant I simply didn’t know how special it would be to be a dad. Obviously everyone’s life story is different and to have looked at my own dad when I was young he didn’t particularly look pleased that he was even a dad to be honest. But I’m different! and I want to reach out to dad’s that are more like me and to share our ideas and stories together here on this blog.

The first thing I’d like to talk about is how much having dogs has helped me through the whole process. Now I know what you maybe thinking - ‘how is having dogs going to make being a new dad easier / better?’ - Fair question and let me answer it as honestly as I can here. Having and being the owner of dogs and effectively being a dog dad and enjoying funny dog dad gifts is a sure fire way to get more out of your life as a dad. I mean there’s nothing better than bringing up your son or daughter with dogs around the house. It’s the age old thing that suits the house perfectly in my humble opinion.

The next thing that’s really been helping with the new life-changing status of being a new dad is being able to receive some awesome funny hunting shirts that my wife has recently bought for me. Boy did I laugh out loud when she bought me one that read ‘What’s the cheapest type of meat? Deer balls!’ and it had a cool target icon and deer antlers. My wife knows me too well. As I love nothing more than go out hunting on the weekend. I love it. It makes me so down to Earth and at one with nature (despite me putting a shell between a few deer’s eyes of course) - it really is a soul-warming kind of sport. It must be enjoyed by other dads as well. I have met a few when I’ve been hunting in the woods which reminds me of another funny hunting joke ‘I hunt in the woods too much, said no-one ever!’ That made me laugh anyway. You can take a look at a nice dad gifts store here.
